Sydenham Regional College is a senior college with a university feel located in Melbourne’s suburb of Sydenham. Established in 1982, the College is now the largest Catholic Senior Secondary College in Victoria with an enormous breadth of VCE, VCAL and VET subjects.
The uniform was designed alongside the team at Sydenham Regional College to create an overall look that would suit men and women of all shapes and sizes.
The corporate colours of navy and maroon were incorporated throughout the uniform with the base colour for the suiting being a light grey.
Working with the light grey as the base allowed us to create a number of shirt options to provide the team members variety and to create a wardrobe with a number of pieces all complementing and working well together.
The uniform consisted of light grey suiting with the option for women of a jacket – longer jacket or a crop, a skirt, trousers and a dress. For men, the suiting consisted of a tailored two button jacket and classic slimline trousers. Each jacket was finished with a cobalt blue lining and the college’s logo on the jacket chest piece.
The shirting was where we were able to create some variations for the team. We created three different collard shirts each with the contrast feature of a navy insert in the collar, cuff and placket. The shirts options were a white self-stripe, a light blue micro check and a grey micro check. In addition, two blouse options were included for the ladies. A loose flowing viscose blouse in ivory and a marine blue. As with most of our clients, Sydenham had the option of long sleeve, three-quarter and short sleeve.
The final piece was the offer of a yellow thin leather belt and a bright marine blue belt. The belts were a great way to add some colour to the dresses and brighten up a uniform that was predominantly grey in colour and quite conservative.
This comprehensive uniform collection met the conventional design requirements of a Catholic college with plenty of pieces in the range to cater for everyone’s tastes and a pop of colour in the accessories was enough to give them a modern uniform edge.
The women’s collection for the ladies at Sydenham College is tastefully sharp and chic.
